Pamela, a member at our Ayr health club has shared her health club experience.
"I joined Bannatyne in May 2022 solely to use the pool. I started swimming a few times a week to clear my mind and have an hour to myself away from the madness of life. Being a mum of four it’s hard to make yourself a priority but I managed to fit it in and loved it. I would use the gym on occasion but it wasn’t until January 2023 I really fell in love with working out. I started going to the classes and I absolutely loved them. The fitness team are amazing, they really push and support you and are never too busy for a chat or advice. I used to hate cardio and avoid it like the plague but now I can’t get enough of it. RPM and Body Attack are my favourite classes, they really should be on prescription. I lost five and a half stone in 2023 and dropped 5 dress sizes, going from a size 24 to a 14, now in 2024 I am doing a mix of classes and strength and I am loving it, I still have some weight to lose but it’s really much more than weight loss. I have found a love for fitness, I have more energy, I use to get out of breath climbing stairs and now I can run a 5k without stopping! I am so much happier in myself and my confidence has grown, I have made new friends and love the wee community that exists in the classes, there’s no judgement and everyone is a team, it really is a family.”
