A lucky member of Bannatyne’s Health Club and spa in Norwich is going into UNCHARTED territory after winning an action-packed luxury trip to New York.
Kevin Price, who joined the Northside Business Park-based club three years ago, will be jetting off for an action-packed break in the Big Apple that will include helicopter and speedboat experiences and a stay in a top-class hotel.
The 56-year-year-old is the winner of a competition that was held to mark the release of Sony Pictures’ adventure film UNCHARTERED.
Based on the PlayStation video game by Naughty Dog, in UNCHARTED street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada. What starts as a heist job for the duo becomes a globe-trotting, white-knuckle race to reach the prize before the ruthless Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they stand to find $5 billion in treasure and perhaps even Nate’s long-lost brother...but only if they can learn to work together.
The prize will involve Kevin stepping inside the world of UNCHARTED to go in search of hidden treasure during a custom-designed film-themed smartphone mission across New York. He will be accompanied on the trip by his partner 51-year-old Claire Aldus.
Kevin, who lives in Norwich, said: “When I heard I had won I just thought ‘wow’. I have never won anything in my life.
“I am really looking forward to the trip, which is going to be absolutely amazing. The thought of taking part in a Hollywood-style mission is incredibly exciting.”
Kevin, who works in the building trade selling construction products, qualified for the fantastic competition by signing up for a bespoke UNCHARTED-themed B Fiit class.
The B Fiit sessions are mini circuit training workouts, which incorporate bodyweight exercises, cardio and gym equipment.
Kevin, who is a children’s author in his spare time, said: “The B Fiit class is the perfect way to raise your fitness levels and keep body and mind well-conditioned. I would highly recommend it as a way of improving your physique, soul and general wellbeing.”
Duncan Bannatyne, chief executive and chairman at the Bannatyne Group, said: “Congratulations to Kevin for winning this fabulous prize that will enable him and Claire to experience a slice of Hollywood magic.
“It’s brilliant to hear how much Kevin enjoyed the UNCHARTED-inspired workout sessions.
“The Bannatyne Group was delighted to help celebrate the launch of UNCHARTED, a fun action-adventure film, with the tie-up being a significant one for the company.”
The Bannatyne Group promoted the movie through its health clubs and member communications and offering the opportunity to win through several avenues:
